One of my favourite songs – “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”

For those that may not know While My Guitar Gently Weeps is a song written by The Beatles George Harrison.  The song appears on The Beatles White Album.   Eric Clapton played lead guitar on the original version.

The song has been ranked 135 out of 500 best rock songs by US Rolling Stone magazine.

Harrison died in 2001 from cancer.  Three years later in 2004, George Harrison was inducted posthumously into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist.

“While My Guitar Gently Weeps” was played in tribute to him by fellow inductee Prince along with Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne (who both played with George in the Travelling Wilburys)  and with George’s son, Dhani Harrison.

I think its  a cracking version.  Hope you enjoy.  And fair play to Prince.  He rocks.
